Experiential, done right, can change the world. Those of us in this industry know that it’s the single most powerful way to win over hearts and minds, and transform how people see the world — whether it’s an immersive theatrical performance, a concert in Fortnite, a mind-blowing Halftime Show or Olympics Opening Ceremony or a really thoughtful brand experience led by a powerful story.
To quote one or our XLISTers, Es Devlin, “Every experience is a temporary society.” With the XLIST, we honor, celebrate and elevate those individuals who are creating the most original, innovative and high-impact societies, and building thoughtful and inspiring worlds.
You are welcome to nominate yourself, a colleague, a client, a collaborator — anyone you think belongs on the XLIST. And, you can nominate as many worthy individuals as you like! There is a $149.00 fee for each nomination.

- XP Land is a group of experiential architects, strategists and creatives who come from the media world. We are the people who launched revenue-generating experiences like the Fast Company Innovation Festival and the Teen Vogue Summit. We are the minds behind the Green Room at the Oscars, the AD Home Design Show, the GQ Lounge and the WIRED Store. As part of that former life, we worked with many brands to bring experiences to life. Some who truly got XP (we see you Pepsi, Delta, Sephora, Samsung, Amex and Red Bull) and some who are still struggling to figure it out.
- We’re based in NYC and because we can’t be everywhere and see everything (although we do try!) — we bring in our well-rounded Council members to help us select the XLIST. They are experiential creators and curators, programmers and content producers, brand leaders and venue visionaries. We tap into their networks to help surface a broader spectrum of XLIST-worthy nominees.
- Each nominee should have played a pivotal role in an event / live experience that debuted within the last two years, anywhere in the world.
- The nominee's work should be considered groundbreaking. This individual should have played a crucial role in a remarkable new experience, developed an innovative new technology or art form, or created a breakthrough in the industry.
- The XLIST is selected by the XP Land editorial team and the XP Land Council, based on ORIGINALITY, INNOVATION, IMPACT.
- A gorgeous editorial portfolio of your work, your successes, press links and social handles
- Inclusion in press release to experiential trade
- XLIST digital and event promotion

- Interviews / editorial / speaking opportunities with XP Land
- Complimentary invitations to upcoming XP Land events
- We will ask you for professional information on yourself or the person you are nominating.
- We will also ask a series of questions about up to three projects you or your nominee has been a key part of in the past two years. We’ll ask for links, imagery, and other media assets that will be used to create your editorial portfolio, if selected to be on the XLIST.
- The nomination should take about 30-60 minutes to complete, plus a bit of time gathering assets. And yes, you can start it and finish it later.
- Our first XLIST was a gift to the industry, and now that we’re opening our aperture even wider, each nomination costs $149.00 to cover administrative, editorial and technology costs
- It’s hard to believe that some people feel experiential is a new industry. We know it’s not. But what we do is challenging to define and there’s not a simple framework for how to do what we do.
- XP Land’s mission is to help clearly define, elevate and bring awareness to our powerful $3.6T* industry — and also to bring together the wildly creative people in our field. And we need your help.
